OPINION: Why does Hollywood have so much contempt for Conservatism?

There’s no denying that most people working in Hollywood are liberal. The obvious examples include Matt Damon, George Clooney, Gwenyth Paltrow, Barbra Streisand, and Sean Penn just to name a few. Yes, I know this subject is getting boring and repetitive, but I bring up this subject for a reason. It’s because some of these writers, directors, and actors aren’t afraid to use their content to promote their progressive agenda. This is discussed in full-detail in the book Primetime Propaganda. This book is written by neoconservative author Ben Shapiro (who I believe goes off the deep-end most of the time), exposes the blacklisting of conservatives in Hollywood, and includes interviews from Blue Bloods producer Leonard Goldberg, and MacGyver and America’s Funniest Home Videos creator Vin Di Bona. I haven’t read the book yet, but I have seen a few YouTube clips from Shapiro’s interviews, and it really makes me want to read it.

An example I’d like to point out in Hollywood obnoxiously shoving propaganda down our throats, comes from a channel that’s not quite surprising considering how, like it’s sister station MTV, it is one of the purveyors of our society’s downfall with trashy reality shows… VH1. It’s miniseries, I Love the 2000s, bashes the GOP, George W. Bush, and Middle America, while they praised incumbent President Barack Obama just because he was the first U.S. President to be an African-American. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad we have a black president as well, but what are his accomplishments? Most of what he’s done has been disastrous. Thanks to Obamacare, people have actually lost their healthcare as a result of rising costs. It has also been harder for people to found businesses as well. According to a tweet by retired talk radio host Neal Boortz, Bernie Marcus, a co-founder of The Home Depot, stated that the company he started wouldn’t exist today under our current government regulations. Truer words could never have been spoken.

The fact is that Obama has not done a very good job leading the nation. He has divided this country. This does not have to do with our Commander in Chief’s skin color whatsoever, it has to do with his policies. My question is why would VH1 insult more than half of the population by smearing Bush and praising Obama just because of his skin color? Because they and the media are one in the same. Most of the news and entertainment programming that comes out today smears anybody who dares disagree with the progressive agenda, especially when it’s a garbage program from VH1. In order to really have political balance in Hollywood, it’s up to us as conservatives to get into the culture. We already have feature film territory with such hits as Son of God (which I still have yet to see) and Heaven is for Real, and of course we also have HD channels like MeTV and cable channels like Hallmark Channel and INSP putting out wholesome programming the whole family can enjoy. It’s content like this that the majority of America is hungry for. Earth to Hollywood, it’s time for you to stop shoving your trashy reality shows, rap music, and obnoxious one-sided propaganda down the throats of the American public.
