I’m proud to announce that Carolina Culture Warrior is back and running after much-longer-than-I-thought hiatus. Here are the top 3 stories for you to catch up on, mainly about the latest movies.
1. Inside Out Opens at #1
This isn’t surprising unless you live under a rock. Pixar’s latest animated film Inside Out opened at #1 at the box office this past weekend. The story of a midwestern girl who moves to San Francisco and brings her emotions with her has so far grossed over $34.2 million. That’s a pretty good opening, and is performing much better Disney’s recent live-action dud Tomorrowland, which is currently on track to set Disney back $140 million. That’s what happens when you allow George Clooney to preach about the global warming hoax.
2. Trailer for The Peanuts Movie Released
Courtesy of 20th Century Fox, the official trailer has been released for The Peanuts Movie, based on the popular Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz. The best part about this is unlike most animated movies that like to aim at the lowest-common-denominator and add in fart jokes, toilet humor, modern pop songs, and liberal propaganda, Peanuts promises to keep the integrity and timelessness of the comic strip in tact. Don’t worry about the short hip-hop snippet in the middle of the trailer, that won’t be in the actual film. Instead, it will be the classic jazz piano standards we all came to love in the Charlie Brown specials. The song in the trailer is Baba O’Reilly by The Who. The Peanuts Movie will be in theaters November 6.
3. The Real O’Neals Most Anti-Catholic Show on Television
The new show The Real O’Neals takes anti-Catholic bigotry to a new level! That’s no surprise as militant gay bomb thrower Dan Savage serves as executive producer. Does ABC really want to alienate more than 98% of the population? It does seem like it, as it will probably suffer the same fate NBC’s gay-parent sitcom The New Normal did and only last one season before it gets cancelled. It’s worse than it sounds. If you watch it with your family this Fall, they will disown you. If you watch it with your girlfriend, she will leave you for someone who hates garbage like this. And, if you watch it alone, you will awful about yourself and regret ever watching it. Just sayin’. I would never watch a show that smears the Catholic faith much like this new piece of trash that’s set to air.
Well, that’s your chance to play catchup on the latest in entertainment news. I’ll see you soon with more in political commentary, cultural commentary, and of course those great movie reviews.
