OPINION: Planned Parenthood and the Media’s Gross Defense Of It
As everybody knows, the abortion group Planned Parenthood was exposed for the barbaraians they really are, courtesy of the California-based Center for Medical Progress. The people working at Planned Parenthood are complete and total monsters who’s mission is to destroy potential human lives. If we as a country can’t universally condemn these practices, we are in big trouble. ABC’s David Muir said the network would try their best to stay on the story, however both his boss Ben Sherwood (who is in bed with Soros as I’ve said many times before) and the Planned Parenthood organization are telling him to stop reporting on the story. Intimidated by his liberal bosses? Yes. Cowardly for not rebelling against his higher-ups? Definitely. However, ABC is not alone. CBS also downplayed this scandal as a nothing-burger as well, as did most of the media. Not only that, they considered the videos “deceptively edited smears”. Brent Bozell, CMR, Fox News are all “attacking” Planned Parenthood, and need to be ignored according to these people. Like Planned Parenthood, the merchants of hate who are peddling this stuff need to be held accountable. Let’s begin with The New York Times. In an editorial last week, that far-left newspaper said:
The Center for Medical Progress video campaign is a dishonest attempt to make legal, voluntary and potentially lifesaving tissue donations appear nefarious and illegal. Lawmakers responding by promoting their own anti-choice agenda are rewarding deception and putting women’s health and their constitutionally protected rights at risk.
That’s flat out reprehensible, and every American should condemn that New York Times editorial. Being against the actions of Planned Parenthood has nothing to do with being “dishonest”. If you oppose abortion, you are not awarding deception. If you express concern about human lives, you are not putting women’s health at risk. The New York Times does this all the time. If you disagree with their progressive worldview, you are hateful. Even worse is ConWebWatch, a blog written by far-left zealot Terry Krepel, a former Media Matters for America employee. Krepel is personally attacking Media Research Center president Brent Bozell and his business partner Tim Graham, because Bozell and Graham said this:
Speaking of silent support: Where on Earth are the “news” media on this? It’s Kermit Gosnell all over again. What’s more, they’re demonstrating how strongly they back Planned Parenthood and the abortion-on-demand agenda. Planned Parenthood boss Cecile Richards is a regular and honored guest on MSNBC, and host Lawrence O’Donnell even told her he’d nominate her to be America’s ambassador to the United Nations.
I’ve been sick of hearing this kind of stuff as of now, but it’s true. As we may know Bozell especially is a very flawed man, but he’s done a lot of help with the conservative movement, no doubt. And compared to most other conservative talking heads like Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh, Bozell is St. Paul. ConWebWatch is a blatantly dishonest site that attacks people like Bozell, and groups like his MRC. Incredibly, Krepel continues:
Just as the CMP’s dishonesty has undermined its by-any-means-necessary campaign to destroy Planned Parenthood, the MRC’s refusal to admit that dishonesty is undermining its argument that the “liberal media” is ignoring the story. The MRC is demanding that lies be presented as truth and that the truth must be buried — the exact opposite of how journalism is supposed to work.
As usual, Mr. Krepel is lying. The man is simply incapable of telling the truth himself. However, what else would you expect from a website who’s mission was to personally attack conservatives like Brent Bozell and groups like his Media Research Center for 15 years now? ConWebWatch is not alone. Hollywood has also done some pro-abortion propaganda too. That can be seen on any program created by left-wing zealot Shonda Rhimes, including Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and Scandal. All of those dramas air on the ABC network, which is owned by the Walt Disney Company. To that network’s disgrace, since Ben Sherwood took over that network, its entertainment programming especially has allowed vicious attacks on anyone who doesn’t tow the liberal lines of both Shonda Rhimes and ABC Family. The indecency of the shows created by the respective show runner and cable network is unprecedented in the TV industry. And then there are corporations who donate directly to Planned Parenthood, they are to blame for this monstrosity as well. Companies such as Clorox, Starbucks, and Levi Strauss & Co. obviously had to know that they were donating money to an organization whose purpose was to kill babies who deserve to at least be born, and if they were born by a pregnant teen, that teen’s baby should have at least been given up for adoption.
I’m not for boycotts. I expected Levi’s and Starbucks to donate directly to Planned Parenthood, as they are stone-cold progressives based in the respective big cities of San Francisco and Seattle, both cities having far-left policies, but Clorox should have been more careful, because mothers of already-born children use Clorox products, including their famous bleach. Ford Motor Company and The Coca-Cola Company already withdrew their support from Planned Parenthood due to watching the video. Good. And they should be disgusted, no company should be sponsoring an organization that supports murder. Even Democrats are disgusted, and I guess Terry Krepel didn’t see how even Hillary Clinton is distancing herself from Planned Parenthood:
“I have seen pictures from them and I obviously find them disturbing,” the Democratic presidential hopeful said during a sit-down interview Tuesday with the New Hampshire Union Leader.
And the withdrawal of support keeps on coming. But, some liberals are in denial. After watching the videos, the far-left weekly newspaper The St. Louis American said:
Planned Parenthood is the most trusted women’s health care provider in this country, and has been for nearly 100 years. One in five American women has been a patient of Planned Parenthood, receiving much needed care.
However, right now a dangerous smear campaign headed by an extremist anti-abortion group is underway in which secretly obtained, heavily edited videos are being used to make outrageous and untrue claims about fetal tissue donation programs.
Edited tapes? The St. Louis American comparing pro-lifers to extremists? Unbelievable. And somehow the American does not condemn the kooks at PETA, or the socially progressive propaganda on ABC Family, it’s just “anti-abortion” groups that are the problem. The hypocrisy is stunning, but it pales compared to the hypocrisy of both the media and Hollywood about the Planned Parenthood situation. Decent people of all races, genders, and sexual orientations need to condemn the actions of this organization. I can’t tell you how angry this makes me, Roe v. Wade has proven to have very serious consequences to our society since that Supreme Court case made abortion legal in the 1970’s. the March for Life was created as a result. Has The New York Times ever done any stories on that? There comes a time in society where everyone needs to condemn a story like this. The New York Times, ABC Family, Terry Krepel and others are furious that the left’s monopoly on controlling news, entertainment, and culture as a whole is falling apart. Because the left is furious, they are refusing to cover a story fairly, such as the Planned Parenthood controversy, yet they let the world be outraged over the killing of unarmed black teens or wild animals in Africa. How despicable is that? Dr. Ben Carson weighed in on this story yesterday in a Facebook post:
(L)et me say that I was deeply moved by the grace you spoke of – believe me, we are all in need of grace in this world. Your story is not unlike many young women’s and couples today. It may have been a different decade, but it’s the same decision. Unfortunately, today’s young people are misled by organizations and programs masquerading as “healthcare providers”, making empty promises about “quality of life” for “unprepared parents”. Let me tell you, I love to read books, but it doesn’t matter how many you read, you will never really ever be “prepared” to be a parent. It takes grace to be a parent.
My advice to young couples is to treasure the gift you have been given, planned or unplanned. Some of the best experiences in my life have been the most unexpected. It is important to value the person you choose to spend the rest of your life with, so share that same value with the child you have both created.
Values are the underpinnings of this great nation, and as a leader, I will always work to maintain that.
Now, those are great words from Dr. Carson, but unfortunately no one wants to follow his advice. Also, I would like for him to call out Hollywood especially for allowing pro-aborion propaganda to go on TV airwaves. It is so full of liberal activism under the guise of entertainment, that it is as complicit as the mainstream media in making abortion seem like a good thing. One final note, the killing of the lion in Zimbabwe need to be condemned as well. That incident needs to remind conservatives that wild animals such as lions have a right to live as much as human babies do. Murder is murder, whether its on humans or animals living in the wild.
