OPINION: Hollywood and the Media Love Their Gun Control

This week, President Obama met with Attourney General Loretta Lynch on an executive action on gun control. As you already may know by now, the 2nd Amendment, the right to bear arms, has been under attack ever since the Sandy Hook shooting back in 2012, and the NRA has been attacked along with it. This is just the latest example of this happening as we speak, not to mention the latest example of Obama’s total disregard for American traditions and heritage.  A lot of people are sick and tired of Obama and his cronies violating the constitution with these kinds of executive actions. However, both the media and Hollywood are obviously loving it.

For example, CNN – a unit of TimeWarner’s Turner Broadcasting System – will be hosting a town hall created specially to gush and fawn over these actions. CNN’s current president is Jeff Zucker, a committed liberal who is infamous for turning the NBC network into the most far-left outfit in the history of broadcasting. He is perhaps infamous for publicly blurting out that opposition to Obamacare is racist, and that people wanting to the network to cover the Benghazi terror attacks and the coverup that followed are doing nothing but throw temper tantrums. That should tell you everything you need to know about the situation with CNN. It should also tell you what you need to know about TimeWarner’s thoughts on the 2nd Amendment as a whole. It’s amazing how the network can get away with advocating with Obama on gun control, even engage in full-on activism on any kind of leftist issue they can find, including gun control. CNN isn’t the only one, Univision/Fusion anchor Jorge Ramos even went as far to advocate for the government to totally abolish the 2nd Amendment:

“We have a pattern now of mass shootings in this country that has no parallel anywhere else in the world”, said President Barack Obama during an interview. “We should come together in a bipartisan basis and every level of government to make these [attacks] rare as opposed to normal”.

But that’s not going to happen. No presidential candidate – none – dares to even propose a prohibition on [private ownership of] firearms. And even the most reasonable ideas – such as barring the sale of firearms to persons on the no-fly list – are rejected in Congress. Conclusion: we have to sit around and wait for the next massacre.

His views on this are so radical – and off the charts – it probably wouldn’t go so well with the American people. Mr. Ramos makes anybody working at MSNBC look sane by comparison. Bill O’Reilly noted his Fox News Channel program The O’Reilly Factor – and right to his face I might add – that Ramos is not a reporter, but rather an activist working under the guise of a journalist. People like Jorge Ramos are the epitome of what journalists do for a living anymore. They are no longer reporters, but they are activists working under the guise of reporters. Their attacks on the 2nd Amendment have let them come out of the closet as leftist activists, and it’s even more so in the 2010’s.

Then there’s the entertainment industry in America, which has become so radicalized it’s absurd. One of the most obvious examples happened in 2014, when ABC broadcast an episode of the popular prime time drama Scandal which had the fictional president in the show say this:

The right to bear arms — set in stone in the Constitution by our founding fathers. So was slavery, by the way. The right to bear arms — seems indisputable until the shooter comes, until you’re Lisa Elliot, covered in blood, watching a little girl take her last breath, watching the light go out of her eyes. And that, that is where the argument ends. That is when the debate is over.

As you know, Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes is a committed leftist who often uses her programming to promote her progressive point of view, and is even on the board of a local Planned Parenthood chapter in Southern California. ABC has been alienating traditional Americans as a result of the recent fare they’ve been airing, and that could be very bad for business. Moving on from ABC, the film industry has even suffered some box office flops due to the stars of these films ranting about gun control. Sean Penn and Liam Neeson are perfect examples. Neeson, perhaps notorious for making the villain a 9/11 family member in the film Non-Stop, ranted about Americans having guns, and as a result his 2015 movie Run All Night – which glorified gun violence – bombed at the box office. Sean Penn has done that same thing in the past, resulting in his movie The Gunman to be a flop as well. The latter was also anti-American, but that’s a whole other story.

The point being, it’s high time for these advocates of taking guns away from the average American – including the media, Hollywood, and President Obama himself – to give up. Their anti-Constitution sentiment is getting a lot of people angry, and it’s not going to get us anywhere. For the media, it’s all about gaining their trust back. For Hollywood, it’s about gaining its box office dollars back from average moviegoers who are not a part of the coastal elites. It’s high time for conservatives to tell these people “Enough is Enough”, and we’re not going to take it anymore.
